Where Data Meets Purpose at UCF: Intego Clinical at BDAS 2026

On March 23, 2026, Intego Clinical joined the University of Central Florida’s Big Data Analytics Symposium for another year of collaboration, conversation, and discovery. As the event continues to grow, it remains a key space where students and industry professionals come together to explore how data is shaping decisions across sectors and redefining career possibilities.

This year’s conversations centered on the practical impact of analytics in areas such as transportation, aviation, and workforce development; while also reinforcing a broader message, data is no longer confined to technical roles, it is embedded in how organizations solve real problems. In collaboration with the Women in Data Science initiative, the symposium also emphasized the value of diverse perspectives in driving innovation.

Connecting Data to Patient Impact

Intego Clinical’s focus on life sciences introduced a different dimension to the discussions. While many organizations highlighted applications in business or technology, our team shared how data plays a critical role in clinical research and healthcare outcomes. These conversations helped illustrate how analytical skills can extend beyond traditional industries and into work that directly influences patient care and treatment development.

For students exploring career options, this perspective often reshaped how they viewed the field, connecting technical expertise with tangible, real world impact.

Shifting from Presentation to Conversation

Rather than formal presentations, our team prioritized direct interaction. Small group discussions created an environment where students could ask detailed questions, share their interests, and better understand how their skills might translate into a career in clinical research.

These exchanges were not only informative, but also revealing. Many students expressed curiosity about how to enter specialized areas of data science, and appreciated the opportunity to engage in open, back and forth dialogue instead of one-way presentations.

Building Skills Through Experience

Interest remained strong around Intego Clinical’s Clinical SAS® Internship Program, which continues to serve as a bridge between academic learning and professional application. Through this program, students gain exposure to the workflows and responsibilities involved in clinical data analysis, along with guidance from experienced professionals in the field.

The emphasis on mentorship and applied learning stood out in conversations, particularly among students looking for opportunities that go beyond theory and provide a clearer sense of day to day work in the industry.

What Stood Out This Year

Discussions with attendees highlighted a shift in how students are thinking about their careers. Many are looking for roles that offer a sense of purpose, alongside opportunities to apply technical skills in meaningful contexts. Flexibility, professional growth, and clarity around career progression were recurring themes, reflecting a more intentional approach to career planning.

These perspectives continue to inform how we engage with emerging talent, ensuring that opportunities align not only with industry needs, but also with what candidates value most.

Continuing the Momentum

Events like BDAS reinforce the importance of ongoing collaboration between universities and industry. They create opportunities to exchange ideas, identify talent, and better understand how the next generation is approaching the evolving data landscape. Intego Clinical remains committed to supporting this ecosystem through mentorship, training, and continued partnership with UCF. Each year builds on the last, and we look forward to staying part of the conversations that shape the future of data in life sciences.
